Submissions to the Horror Realm Film Room
Filmmakers: To screen your film at our convention please follow the guidelines below.
Due Date: December 1, 2026
- Submissions must be in .mp4, .mkv format. HD and UHD content acceptable but nothing beyond 4 GB.
- Send only links to cloud drives or other links to the film. Please do not send the film directly through email.
- Movie must be horror film or documentary about horror films.
- Horror Realm may or may not show any film submitted at their sole discretion.
- Movie/short/reel must have been made in the last five years.
- We are not accepting films of any kind or length constructed by AI.

Categories
This year, we are emphasizing short subject films that are more in keeping with the time constraints our convention goers are under with the wide variety of entertainment at our event.
Features
We will only have room for two (2) features this year.
- Features must not exceed 2 hours in length to fit our time constraints.
- Features must be accompanied with a 18×24 ratio “movie poster” in .jpg or .png format
- Features must be accompanied with a description/synopsis not to exceed 300 characters.
Short Films
We are emphasizing this category.
- Shorts may be fiction or non-fiction.
- Shorts will be between 5-30 minutes in length to incorporate the largest grouping we can of films.
- A short film more than 30 minutes but less than an hour may be considered, but this is not our emphasis this year.
- A still image from the film or film poster may accompany the film. If none available, a logo of the film producer is acceptable.
- Shorts must be accompanied with a description/synopsis not to exceed 100 characters.
Reels and Verticals
For the first time, we will show some “Reels” between other films and in some blocks. We are emphasizing YouTube channels and podcasters to participate in this category.
Please refer to the samples here. We have one sample with a YouTube Channel name and one with a URL/website address.
- Reels must be under 5 minutes.
- Reels must be provided in vertical format.
- Reels may be accompanied by a .PNG logo. Website and channel information may also be provided. See screen shot below. To see what we will be doing with this material.
- Reels may be accompanied by a URL name or a YouTube channel name.
- Reels may be accompanied by a QR code. If you don’t provide a QR code, we will link the QR on the screen to the Horror Realm website.
